In a surprise development, there was a tie in votes for who should be the next mayor of The Study. Per The Study’s constitution, a staring contest must occur between the top vote-getters to determine the winner.
For what seemed like hours, Steve and Abril seemed like stones, neither one moving or blinking.
After considerable time, one of the spectators fell into a coughing fit. Steve got distracted and blinked.
Abril was sworn in as mayor immediately.
